Transition in the Outback

Koinonia has invested for around 15 years in the city of Ingazeira. There have been lots of ups and downs and there has been fruit for God’s glory through the years.

But we are at crossroads again there. Our missionary Carlos and his wife Dinalda recently resigned as missionaries to the Outback due to their many long periods away from one another and their lack of peace to actually move out there. They have been our third attempt to get a solid congregation going there.

We have been praying for years about targeting a more strategic city by the name of Arcoverde. It looks like God is opening one door by closing another. We are in conversation with some sister churches in Recife about the possibility of taking over the work in Ingazeira. If this does not happen, we may be closing that work. Either way, we ask for your prayers for wisdom and God’s clear guiding.

We are grateful for the years in that town, even with the difficulties we have faced, as we know that God has honored our work there, even when we don’t see some of our plans accomplished. And we see that as what it is: our plans can only work if they are part of His perfect plan.
